CRACK PIPE ISSUE HEATS UP.....

Nanaimo City Council is not too pleased they were kept out of the loop with regards the decision by Vancouver Island Health Authority to give out crack pipes to drug users.
VIHA says their program was designed to reduce the harm from disease that can be associated with drug use.
Council has called upon VIHA to attend a public meeting to explain why they embarked on this program, and why City Council was not informed of the matter.
This only came to light as the result of a report from a private citizen, apparently the RCMP have been aware of the program for several months now.
