FOOT FERRY ON HOLD

Nanaimo Downtown Ferry Stays Put

Saying that rising financial realities will either mean higher fares or finding new investors or partners; the owners of the downtown Nanaimo to downtown Vancouver foot ferry, have put launch plans on hold.
The service had been scheduled to re-open this long weekend. The previous owners were unable to make this route profitable, causing the closure sometime ago.

Nanaimo residents who had planned on using the service, need other plans obviously. While the weather has been spectacular, swimming is probably out.

Perhaps city hall can dig into the purse a little deeper and help them out. Wait a minute, that was probably a really bad idea.
