BANNERS AT THE BAY

While summer in Nanaimo is still officially three weeks away, you would think it was already here this week. It is just like summer down at Departure Bay beach where the colorful banners add a festive air.
Take your shoes off and stroll on the beach, or stroll the sidewalk and take a rest on one of the conveniently located benches. Take in the great view and watch a BC Ferry come or go, if you are really lucky you might catch a glimpse of one of our rare seagulls!
A delightful place for people of all ages, seldom what you could really call 'busy'. Gather up the kids, grab a towel, shovel and pail and spend some quality time in the great outdoors.
After all, that is really one of Nanaimo's greater features. Wouldn't you agree?
