SILLY BOAT REGATTA ANOTHER SUCCESS

Under cloudy skies and with a brisk breeze blowing, the 23rd annual Silly Boat Regatta was another crowd pleasing success.
Some teams could have done without the additional challenge of the stiff breeze. For example, sails, which were supposed to be a benefit, turned into a penalty during the first leg of the race, which was going into the wind.
The result, many craft probably covered more than three times the length of the race because of being blown waaaay off course.
Some vessels showed surprising seaworthiness while others simply kept you amazed they kept afloat!
It was a great day, enjoyed by all, with the Nanaimo Child Development Centre having another successful fundraiser for their worthy cause.
If you missed it.....be sure to come out next year. It is a fun time for all.
