SUMMERS BLACKBERRY BOUNTY

TIME FOR SOME
DELICIOUS BLACKBERRIES
With the few days of wet weather and now a few more of sunshine, the local blackberries should be bursting with flavour. While not always growing exactly where you want them, they are a hardy local bush, which produces an abundance of fruit this time of year. If you are looking for something a little different to do, grab a few pails and the kids, and search the highways and biways for some of this summers bounty. If enough actually make it home, they make a great jam or cobbler, and they also freeze very well. Be sure to get your share of Nanaimo's summer crop.
