THINGS TO DO IN NANAIMO THIS WEEKEND

THERE IS LOT'S TO DO IN NANAIMO THIS WEEKEND
AS THE SUMMER COMES TO IT'S END

Starting with Friday's Free Dances in the Park, at the Lions Pavilion in Maffeo Sutton Park, dance details click here.
Saturday offers several great choices beginning with the Food Share Fun Fair being held at their property at 271 Pine Street. There will be fun stuff for kids of all ages, with a clown, face painting, dunk tank and lots of other fun stuff for all. Come and help them continue their good work in Nanaimo. The fun fair is from 11:00am - 4:pm Aug. 25.
The 3rd Annual Buskers Festival is being held in Maffeo Sutton Park from 1:00 pm - 6:00pm, sponsored by the 7-10 club. Be sure to put this on your 'to-do' list this Saturday.
The Nanaimo Blues Festival continues with two more great days of free concerts at Harbourfront Plaze on Commercial St. This is right in front of the library, if you are not familiar. There are free concerts on Saturday and Sunday, and you can see their full schedule by clicking here, Nanaimo Blues Festival.
Sometime earlier this year, I made a note there would be another Show'nShine Car Show downtown this coming Sunday Aug. 26. However, I have not been able to confirm this for a certainty, so you if go downtown and it is not there, I am sorry. If you don't go and it is there, I am still sorry.
This is just about the last summer weekend (if you can call what we have had summer :^). So be sure to check out the Farmers Market on Friday beside the Bastion. Stop in and actually see inside the Bastion, see the Cannon Firing at noon, check out the Museum and all the activities along our great waterfront.
Be sure to hit the lakes for a end of the summer swim if freshwater is your choice, or one of our great ocean front beaches if the salt chuck is your preference.
Just be sure to get out and have a GREAT WEEKEND, as it looks like it will actually be a dry and sunny one.
