More Federal Funds
Federal MP James Lunney is quoted in the local press as saying any more Federal money for the Port of Nanaimo Center is not likely. Saying that the $3.3 million already committed is likely all that Ottawa will contribute.
He did offer some hopeful news in that he said Ottawa is looking with interest at the new Port of Nanaimo cruise ship dock and the Nanaimo Airport expansion. Both are major projects which will have significant impact on Nanaimo and the central Vancouver Island area for years to come.
Perhaps it would help if we sent PM Harper a big box of Nanaimo bars!
