Nanaimo Graffiti Clean Up

Nanaimo RCMP are pleased to announce, in conjunction with their many partners, the annual downtown Graffiti clean up, taking place June 14th, beginning at 9:00 am, at the downtown RCMP Community Policing Office, located at 39 Wharf St.


Constable Wally Taylor, who helps coordinate this initiative, reported the Nanaimo School district budgets nearly $42,000 yearly in graffiti clean up costs, while the City Parks and Recreation $38,000 and Nanaimo Public Works $30,000. He also re-iterated this initiative would not have been possible without financial contributions from Nanaimo Crime Stoppers,Telus , Canada Post, Nanaimo School District, Nanaimo Youth Services Association,Save On Foods and the Downtown Nanaimo Partnership.

All materials needed to assist on June 14th are provided and as Constable Taylor put it “the only thing you need to bring is a desire to do something about this issue once and for all”. If anyone has questions please feel free to contact Constable Taylor at 753-3777.
