Port of Nanaimo Center Opens to Public

Port of Nanaimo Center and
Vancouver Island Conference Center
Hosts Open House June 7 - 8

Being finished on time in the construction business is a big deal these days, and that is exactly what the builders of the new Port of Nanaimo Center have done.

There is not doubt this is a state of the art, cutting edge facility which Nanaimo can be proud of and should have the ability to attract many conventions to the Harbour City.

It will be officially opened June 7-8 and the public is invited to come and see what $72.5 million buys you these days.

The new facility which looks like it has always been there, houses the new Museum, 200 seat Shaw Auditorium (where council now meets), 15,000 square feet of retail space, 300 underground parking spaces and of course the Vancouver Island Conference Center.

No news yet on who will have the honor of officially having the first conference in this brand spanking new facility, but hopefully they will be the first in a great long line of conventions to be attracted to Nanaimo, the Harbour City....Growing Places!
