Residents Wishes May Get Respected
The Canadian Mental Health Association had announced plans to incorporate a homeless drop-in center in the Balmoral Hotel.
The Hotel is planned to be renovated and provide housing for people with drug or mental problems which make it difficult for them to be housed elsewhere.
Area residents were not opposed to the housing component of the plan, however they were strongly against the drop-in center and the type of problems they inherently bring with them.
The drop-in center is presently housed in the Salvation Army New Hope Center but conflicts with the Armies policies are resulting in looking elsewhere to set up the drop-in center.
Any suggestions?
