Canada Day in Maffeo Sutton Park Nanaimo

Everybody loves a parade, led by the RCMP and the bagpipes flags from the many countries which make up Canada paraded past Swy-a-lana lagoon and stopped at the Lions Pavilion.
It was a lovely day in the weather department and just a good family time at Maffeo Sutton Park on Canada Day. There was face painting and games for the kids. Although considering how lovely the weather was I had to wonder where the crowds were, compared to last year attendance seemed to be off.
A popular spot for any Swy-a-lana Lagoon gathering is the food vendors, which when this was taken were still not too busy being only 11:30 or so and the parade activities were still underway. Time to grab a great 'dog' and some cotton candy and kettle corn!
