NANAIMO DISTRICT MUSEUM

NEW NANAIMO MUSEUM OPENED SATURDAY

Nanaimo residents got their first look at the new $7 million museum housed in the Port of Nanaimo Center which also houses the Nanaimo Convention Center.

The museum is a work in progress and not expected fully complete for another 18 months with coal mining exhibits and First Nations exhibits to be in place soon.

The facility is much larger than the old one located in Pipers Park and will allow the museum to not only tell a more complete history of Nanaimo but also can now expand to tell a more complete picture.

For information you can call the Nanaimo Museum at
250-753-1821.
