THERE'S LOTS TO DOIN NANAIMO THIS WEEKEND
A Partial list of the highlights this weekend include:
FRIDAY
Tim Hortons Marine Festival Entertainment Stage at Maffeo Sutton Park in the Lions Pavillion; There will be entertainment for the whole family starting from 12:00noon until 10:00pm.
SATURDAY
10:30 AM the Sail Past on Wheels Fun Parade in downtown Nanaimo. Be sure to come early to get a good spot!
12:00 Noon the New Nanaimo District Museum will open its doors to the public, with free admission until 4:00pm.
12:00 Noon until 10:00pm More Entertainment at the Tim Hortons Marine Festival Entertainment Stage at the Lions Pavillion.
1:00pm The ever popular Bathtub Pet Parade in front of the Lion's Pavillion in Maffeo Sutton Park.
10:00pm FIREWORKS at Nanaimo Harbour by swy-a-lana Lagoon. The Quality Foods "Fesitval of Lights & Music" promises to be Vancouver Island's biggest ever fireworks show!
SUNDAY
The "GREAT RACE" Day! 11:00 am sharp, the firing of the 5th Field Battery Howitzer will launch the 42nd annual "GREAT" International World Championship Bathtub Race. The tubs will leave the harbour adjacent to Swy-a-lana Lagoon.
FINISH LINE: The tubs will finish the race at the Departure Bay Finish Line at the Kinsmen Park!
There will be the Kiwanis Salmon BBQ at the beach along with Food Fare and Amusements for the entire family. Be sure to save a spot for one of these delicious BBQ Salmon on a bun ..... there are fantastic!
The weatherman promises a fantastic weekend so don't even think about going anywhere else this weekend!
