B.C. FERRIES FUEL SURCHARGE TO STAY

FALLING FUEL PRICES
NOT REFLECTED IN FERRY FARES

It is reported in the local daily that the fuel surcharge on BC Ferries will remain in effect until at least 2009 despite lower fuel costs.

A BC Ferries spokesman said the fuel surcharge did not kick in until the first of August and has not offset increased fuel prices the corporation has been facing.

Editor's Comment: Does anyone know how much it costs per passenger for fuel on the new Super C Ferries? Are they as fuel efficient as the older vessels?
