NANAIMO UNDERCOVER DRUG OPERATION

RCMP BUST SEVEN DEALERS
IN NANAIMO'S SOUTH END

Warrants were issued in Nanaimo for seven adults after a successful undercover drug operation targeting street level drug traffickers.

During the past several months the south end community has voiced concerns about what they saw was an increase in illegal activities including but not restricted to drug trafficking. Prostitution, liquor offences and disturbances were just some of the incidents the residents were faced with on a daily basis.

The Nanaimo Municipal Drug unit consulted with representatives of the south end community at various times to listen to their concerns. Their input was an integral component and the success of the drug operation can be directly attributed to their involvement.

An undisclosed amount of cocaine and morphine was purchased during seven separate transactions. The warrants will be executed over the next several days and pictures of the suspects may be posted in local newspapers or on the Crime Stoppers web page if some of the individuals cannot be located.
