VANCOUVER ISLAND BLACKOUT A MYSTERY

MASSIVE POWER OUTAGE ON SUNDAY
200,00 HOMES IN THE DARK
FOR TURKEY DINNER

Hydro have still not found the cause of a major blackout this past Sunday which left as many as 200,000 homes in the dark over the long weekend.

Hydro spokesman are reported as saying they have still been unable to isolate the cause of the fault which left so many people in the dark.

Homes south of Ladysmith were first affected by the outage of one line which occured at about 5:45pm on Sunday evening, which is just about the time many would have been sitting down to turkey with all the trimmings.

It is still unknown why the outage on the one line caused a cascade effect resulting in all the power lines south of Ladysmith also tripping as a result. That effect is not supposed to happen according to hydro spokesman. If one line is affected it should not result in the others going out as well.

Hopefully your turkey was cooked before the outage and you were able to enjoy a candle lit Thanksgiving dinner with friends and family.
