Nanaimo Gas Prices Too High

Nanaimo Drivers Still
Being Gouged at Pumps

As of Dec. 7/08 as reported on Gas Buddy, the price for regular gasoline at Petro Canada in Ottawa was 68.8/litre !

On the same day the prices in Nanaimo were 84.9/litre. This of course is a welcome relief from the $1.50 we were being charged last summer, but still is too high considering the price of crude oil.

The pump prices are clearly demonstrating that the gouging we took last summer had little to do with supply and demand and had more to do with how much the oil companies thought they could take from our pockets without us yelling too loudly.

How much of our current economic crisis do you think can be laid squarely at the feet of the big oil companies and their insatiable greed? Perhaps they single handed did more to kill the auto industry than any other factor.
