Nanaimo Homeless Campground

Nanaimo City Hall ... New Tent City?

The signs bear a marked resemblance to the handy work of a social activist who recently stood for election in the last civic election. And the little black nose peeking out of the tent looks like the faithful companion of the same person.

It seems that Brunie Brunie, while not an elected official is determined to champion the cause of the homeless and be a burr under the saddle of our politicians.

It will be interesting to see how the new council responds to Brunie's approach as I am certain the idea of gracing City Hall with a tent city is not something they wish to encourage.

Whether Nanaimo's homeless even wish to come together in a common camping site (if one were provided) seems an unknown quantity.

Looks like the PNC hotel deal, is not the only issue the new City Council has to deal with.

I presume the 'Right to Life' sign is referring to the plight of the homeless and not the more volatile abortion issue?
