Nanaimo Drinking Water

Nanaimo Drinking Water

The current snow melt and resulting run off does not seem to be causing any problems with the quality of water in Nanaimo. You will remember we did have to boil our water when turbidity raised health concerns in years past.

So far that is not the case this year, however if that should change the VIHA would issue a boil water notice and residents would be notified via the media (Nanaimo Info Blog being one) and the City would also make use of the Emergency Call Alert to notify citizens.

If you are not registered for the Emergency Call Alert System, you might want to consider it now at the start of a New Year.

City of Nanaimo
Emergency Call Alert System

In the event of an emergency, such as a boil water notice, the City of Nanaimo has the ability to automatically notify you by telephone if you are registered with them.

You can be notified by either or both telephone and email in the event of an emergency. To register for this free service you can use this
Nanaimo Info LINK.
