BC Ferries May Long Weekend Schedules

BC Ferries Adds 75 Extra Sailings
For May Long Weekend

BC Ferries is offering 75 extra sailings on its most popular routes over the Victoria Day long weekend. Extra service is available from Thursday, May 14 through Tuesday, May 19.

Additional sailings are scheduled for the Tsawwassen - Swartz Bay, Horseshoe Bay - Departure Bay, and the Horseshoe Bay – Langdale routes for the upcoming long weekend.

  • 58 extra sailings are scheduled from May 14 to 19 on the Tsawwassen – Swartz Bay route
  • 9 extra sailings are scheduled on the Horseshoe Bay – Departure Bay route between May 14 and 18
  • 8 extra sailings are scheduled on the Horseshoe Bay – Langdale route on May 14 through 18

On Tuesday, May 19, early morning sailings are scheduled to depart both Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay at 6:00 am so post-weekend travellers and commercial customers can get a jump on the day.

The most popular travel times are expected to be mid-day Friday to late morning Saturday with traffic moving from the Lower Mainland to Vancouver Island and from Horseshoe Bay to the Sunshine Coast. The holiday Monday afternoon is expected to be busy with traffic returning to the Lower Mainland. BC Ferries encourages customers to consider making a reservation during busy periods in order to ensure their travel plans go smoothly.
