Good News for BC

Surprising Employment News

In a report today released by Stats Canada to everyone's surprise Canada actually added jobs to the economy in April.

All of the employment growth came from Quebec (+22,000) and British Columbia (+17,000).

While still a long way from ideal the unemployment rate in BC is below the national average of 8% at 7.4% but compares favourably with Ontario at 8.7%.

The two provinces with the best numbers are Manitoba with 4.6% and Sask. with 5.0%. Of course if you are going to be unemployed who the heck stays in Manitoba or Sask! :^)

It just could be that all the doom and gloomers have overplayed the economic woes just like they are overplaying the flu everyone's excited about.
