No Smoking, Campfires or Barbeques In City Parks Fire Hazard High

All Open Fires
Banned In Nanaimo Parks


In light of the Extreme Fire Notice issued by Nanaimo Fire Rescue, City of Nanaimo,
Parks, Recreation and Culture has implemented an Open Flame Ban in all City parks and trails effective immediately. There is to be no smoking, campfires or barbeques in City parks until further notice. Propane barbeques are permitted within approved locations. Signs will be posted in parks over the next few days.

Nanaimo, Parks, Recreation and Culture encourage all users of the parks and trails systems to use caution when in the parks and on the trails, and to be aware of all fire hazards. To report a fire in a City of Nanaimo Park or Trail call 911, to report a wildfire call 1-800-663-5555 or *5555 on most cellular networks.
