Bureaucratic Baloney?

Dead Cow Moved To Calgary

It what has to be the poster child for a bureaucratic waste of taxpayers dollars the story of 'Cuddles' the cow has to take the cake.

Recently a dead cow washed up on the beach at Victoria BC, no one knows where it came from and no one came forward to claim the dead animal (of course).

Enter the many layers of bureaucracy beginning with the municipality. They spent 48 hours trying to figure out what to do with the dead animal finally calling the Department of Oceans and Fisheries as the animal was below the high water mark.

Seems they only deal with sea animals and clearly a cow does not fall into that category. The cow then came under the authority of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (not sure who planned on using it for food) who are now in the process of moving the dead animal to Calgary.

Yes, you read that right, Calgary!! Why in the world is the Canadian taxpayer paying to haul a dead cow from Victoria to Calgary? It will likely require refrigerated transport as well as it was already beginning to rot when it was removed from the beach.

I suppose digging a six foot deep hole someplace and simply burying the animal never occured to anyone??

Common sense seems to be a thing of the past. I am sure that a farmer can figure out how to dispose of a dead cow a whole lot cheaper than these guys.
