Island District - BC’s Provincial Police Service
Guards Opening of 39th Parliament

Members of the ‘E’ Division RCMP were on duty at the opening of British Columbia’s 39th Parliament. Officers from the Lower Mainland District, and Island District performed ceremonial duties unique to the opening of the Legislature, in which they provide both ceremonial and practical guard duties during the arrival of the Lieutenant Governor, the Honourable Steven L. Point, and the opening of the Provincial Parliament.

As BC’s Provincial Police Service since 1950, the RCMP has a proud heritage in British Columbia, which is carried on today by over 9500 police officers, civilian employees and volunteers across the Province.
