BBQ Lighters RecalledTesting by Health Canada has revealed that the lighters have unsafe burning characteristics and can leak fuel, posing a burn hazard for users. The refuelling instructions that come with the lighters are also insufficient for safe use.
In addition, the child-resistant mechanism may not work properly on the Uni-Bright Lighters with the straight shaft.

There are over 92,000 of the straight lighters sold in Canada and about 9,000 of the flexible ones.
