Rail Station Gets Closed In
In an effort to halt further deterioration by winter weather, the Island Corridor Foundation is finally putting a new roof on the burned out station.
For a time whether or not Via Rail's insurance would cover the costs was in question but apparently Via has paid the ICD over $850,000.00. The project also hinged on Via agreeing to lease space in the station once work is complete.
Getting a new roof on, is the first stage of the restoration process and should protect the building from further weather related issues.
