NANAIMO TELEPHONE VISITING SOCIETY (3 positions)

1. Telephone Friend

Nanaimo Telephone Visiting Society is looking for caring, mature individuals who would like to make a difference in the lives of (mostly) Seniors who are experiencing a degree of loneliness. Our Volunteers connect with their 'friends' by phone and/or in person. Volunteers often participate in NTVS's social activities and provide warmth and understanding to a Senior or other needy individual in our community.
2. Office Assistant(s)

In November/December our Bookkeeper/Secretary will be away, and we would like to have Volunteers assisting us in the office, and possibly other times. The work in the office is not hard, and we will make sure you receive the training you need. We would like at least two volunteers to assist us in the office. We expect this will be ongoing. Volunteers might consider this as a good way to update some of your office skills – and maybe get a Letter of Reference.

3. History Project Assistant

NTVS will be celebrating our 30th year in 2010, and to honour those 30 years we would like to begin putting all those bits & pieces we have collected over the years into albums, or scrapbooks. We would like to have several volunteers who will take on this project, and put together our history in a format which is interesting and portable. We would like our History Project Volunteers to work in the NTVS office, have an ability to work in a neat and attractive manner, ability to use or learn basic office products, and work well in a team. Volunteers working on this History Project must be fully processed as a NTVS Volunteer. We hope that you would then go on to help us in other ways!

For information on any of the above positions, please contact Christine McCubbin, Program Coordinator, at 250.756.9455 or email her at coord.telvisit@shaw.ca
