Am I eligible?

Eligibility has expanded as of Friday November 13th. Read the public service announcement.

The expanded groups are:

  • Children and youth from 5 years to 18 years of age, inclusive
  • People 65 years of age and over with chronic health conditions
  • Health care workers delivering acute care, long term care, home care, and public health services
  • First responders

These expanded groups join the previously eligible groups:

  • Pregnant women (unadjuvanted);
  • People under the age of 65 with chronic health conditions;
  • Residents of remote and isolated settings or communities;
  • Children 6 months to less than 5 years of age
  • Health care workers (including primary care physicians, VIHA staff that have direct contact with patients in acute care settings, and paramedics);
  • Household contacts under the age of 65 of:

Later in November, the vaccine should start to be available to the general public.

People who are currently receiving the H1N1 vaccine, and for whom the seasonal flu vaccine is normally recommended, will be able to get both shots at the same time.
