Extra Christmas Sailings Aboard BC Ferries

Extra BC Ferries Sailings Over Christmas

BC Ferries is offering 90 extra sailings between the Lower Mainland and

Vancouver Island to meet anticipated demand over the holiday season.

Between December 17, 2009 and January 3, 2010, seventy-six extra sailings will be added between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay, and fourteen additional trips between Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay are scheduled.

December 27 and 28 are expected to be the busiest days for ferry travel over the holiday season. As heavy demand is expected on these two days, BC Ferries recommends reservations for customers planning to travel on a specific sailing.

BC Ferries reminds passengers that on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, sailing schedules are reduced on some routes due to historically low demand.

For travellers looking for last minute gift ideas, Passages Gift Shops on the major vessels offer a wide variety of jewellery, clothing, children’s toys and ornaments. BC Ferries’ gift certificates are a great way to say “come and see us more often.”
