Nanaimo Boating Course

Nanaimo Power and Sail Squadron
Boating Course

The Nanaimo Power and Sail Squadron spring boating course is set to begin Jan. 14 and will run weekly until mid-April.

You can register for the course on Thursday Jan. 7 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm at Wellington Secondary School or you can register online at www.cps-ecp.ca. You can also find more information by visiting the Nanaimo Power and Sail Squadron website using this LINK.

This course is for anyone wanting to get out on the water and goes well beyond the requrements for the PCOC. Studends will learn navigation including chart plotting, marine electronics, weather, tides and currents to emergency procedures.

A cruise in local waters combined with a basic rescue class held at Beban pool allows the opportunity to learn how to apply classroom knowledge in a real life situation.

Gradutates will receive their operator card, which is valid in Canadian and US waters and a one year free membership in the Nanaimo Power and Sail Squadron.

For further information you can visit either website listed above or you can call Mr. Weller at 250-390-1883.
