Water Quality Notice

Heavy Rain May Cloud Tap Water

The City of Nanaimo issued a notice regards the cloudy or discolored water residents may notice resulting from the extremely heavy rain fall.

As a precaution the City of Nanaimo has increased disinfection levels and is taking measures to reduce the impact of the weather event and will continue to monitor water quality closely.

Updates will be posted on the City website as required.

You can also check the VIHA website to see if they have issued any boil water notices by using this Nanaimo Info LINK.

More On The Way

If the weatherman is right with his forecast we can expect as much as another 100mm on Thursday and Friday meaning creeks and rivers may overflow their banks and cause flooding in some areas.

Residents along the Nanaimo River in Cedar already are keeping a close eye on the river levels which have been swollen with the recent heavy rain combined with warm temperatures melting snow at higher elevations.

What's that you say? You don't have to shovel it??
