Female Theft Suspects Sought

The Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two females suspected in a number of thefts from vehicles and at least one vehicle theft in the past week.

On Thursday January 28, a newer model red Mazda pickup, was stolen from the upper parking lot on Front St. The theft occurred between 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM. An HP laptop and some tools were in the vehicle at the time of the theft. In the next several days, this vehicle is believed to have been used by these females to carry out at least eight theft from vehicles in the north end of Nanaimo.

On January 29th five vehicles were broken into over night at an underground parking lot on Songbird Place, located off Uplands Drive behind the Nanaimo North Town Center Mall. From there the two carried onto Edgewater Lane,near the intersection of Uplands Drive and Turner Rd and broke into three more vehicles.

The Mazda pickup was later recovered on Wednesday February 3rd ,at King Arthur’s Court(564 Fifth St) undamaged.

Video surveillance from the parkade on Front St captured the two suspects. Both are in their twenties. One has dark hair and is approximately 5 ft 6 ,120 pounds. The other is much thinner, has blonde hair, wears glasses and is also approximately 5 ft 6.

Anyone with information on the identity of these two females or has information on any these incidents, is asked to contact the Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).Remember ,when you call Crime Stoppers, you never have to give your name.
