Meet Some Of Nanaimo's Most Notable Authors

Central Vancouver Island history buffs are in for a treat when nearly a dozen historical authors converge on Nanaimo Museum on Saturday, Feb. 20 from 11 am to 3 pm.

The event is called Literary Luminaries and it welcomes some of the region`s most notable authors during an event to celebrate Heritage Week. They will be on hand to read from, discuss and sign their respective books.

“With so many distinguished authors in our community it was difficult to figure out whom to invite,” says Debbie Trueman, general manager at the museum. “For the first year of this event we chose to invite authors that have a connection or relationship with the museum.”

The line-up of distinguished authors who will attend the Literary Luminaries event include Lynne Bowen, Richard Mackie, Jan Peterson, JB Pettit, Gordon Bell, Marian Woodson, Goody Niosi, Ellen White, John Wilson, TW Paterson and Margaret Horsfield.

“We look forward to inviting more authors in the future when the event is more established,” says Trueman.

This is event is by donation. For more information on this or any other museum event please contact Bobbi at 250-753-1821, or visit www.nanaimomuseum.ca. The museum is located in the Vancouver Island Conference Centre at 100 Museum Way in downtown Nanaimo.
