2010 Winter Games Assets Now On Sale


Articles ranging from prop canoes used in the 2010 Olympic Winter Games closing ceremony to commercial kitchen equipment are now on sale at BC Auction. Cash and carry sales for items used at the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games begin Saturday, March 27 at 9:00 a.m.

            Items that will be available for purchase include computers, televisions, furniture, tools, electronics, kitchen appliances, linens, general supplies and consumables.

            The sale is being managed by Asset Investment Recovery, a division of the Ministry of Citizens’ Services.

            Sale items listed online on BC Auction can be found under the Vancouver 2010 Assets category.

            Beginning March 27, cash and carry sales will run daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m at the VANOC Main Distribution Centre at 7530 Hopcott Road, Delta. There is no parking on site – road-side parking is available only.

            All cash and carry items must be paid for and removed at the time of purchase. Payment can be made by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, debit and cash.

  1. There is no significant saving.
    I waited over 5 hours to get in on Saturday to find out that you only save 20-40 percent. All the tv's were, of course gone becuase they only put out 20 each day. the TVs are not a good deal because they are $800 TVs besign sold for $500.
    There were electric kettles that you can buy for $12-16 for $10 and dinky table lamps for $8 that can be bought at IKEA for same or less!
    Anyway, like I said, nothing worth waiting for 5 hours just to save 10-30%. Very dispointed. I also know people who work there and they are also pissed of at the prices and the way it is being handled and they just cannot wait to return to their regular jobs.
