Join the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup
September 18 - 26 2010
Last year 2,457 km of shoreline were cleaned, collecting a total of 160,914 kg of litter removed.
The top five items were:
- Cigarette butts 367,010
- Food Wrappers 116,138
- Plastic Bags 74,276
- Caps & Lids 63,471
- Cutlery & Dishes 40,799
Map showing some of the cleanup sites around Nanaimo that will need cleaning this year. If you have the time to organize a cleanup, be sure to register early so as to get ready for this great event.
