Over 4,000 Signatures In Less Than 1 Week
Local Fight HST organizers have already passed the required 10% threshold in their anti HST petition campaign.
According to Elections BC a total of 3,874 signatures would be required and to date 4.129 have been collected, meaning Nanaimo has already passed the required threshold with nearly 80 days left in the campaign.
There will be other events collecting signatures and the door to door campaign will also be gathering more signatures.
The initiative hopes to force the BC government to shelve plans of combining the PST with the GST to be replaced with the HST.
