Morningside Drive Nanaimo
Perhaps one of the nicest Nanaimo parks with it's natural beauty and breath taking views.
Over 30 acres of prime waterfront property which has been preserved for all to enjoy situated just past Piper's Lagoon Park (another Nanaimo gem) on Morningside Road.
When you turn onto Morningside Dr. from Hammond Bay Road, continue past the elementary school to the park entrance. You will find ample parking, well marked trails, picnic areas and countless waterfront lookout points to please anyone.
Except for accessibility, this park has been kept in it's natural state and the scenery, local wildlife and rugged shoreline are a pure delight for any nature enthusiast. Photographers are never disappointed either with an ever-changing list of subjects and views.
Eagles, quail and seabirds are always present, and the occasional Orca can be seen from shore, if you are in the right place at the right time.
Next time you are looking for something to do, pack up the family, take a walking stick, good walking shoes, picnic lunch and the camera of course. You might also want to remember you are right on the ocean which can be a view degrees cooler, so you might want a jacket to stay comfortable.

ReplyDeleteI had a quick question that I'd like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing. I have had trouble clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out. I truly do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints? Many thanks!
