Pleasure Craft Operator Card Is Law

You Need the Card To Operate ANY
Powered Watercraft In Canada
No Exceptions!

Since Sept. 15 2009 all operators of powered watercraft used for recreational purposes within Canada require the Pleasure Craft Operator Card.

This applies to all powered watercraft fitted with any size motor - even an electric trolling motor. There is not age exemption or grandfather clause.

You can acquire your Operator's Card online for a one time fee of $49.95 which includes study manual (online) and the ability to take the test as many times as needed to pass. Once you have your card, it is good for life and does not need renewing.

For more complete information about the Operators Card and boating safety in general use this Nanaimo Info LINK. Not having the card on board is subject to a $250 fine.
