BC Ferries is ramping up its service between Port Hardy and Prince Rupert for the 2010 summer season. The new Northern Expedition will be dedicated to the Inside Passage route from May 18 through September 30.

The 150-metre Northern Expedition features 55 modern staterooms, and accommodates 600 passengers and 130 vehicles. The day-cruise boasts spacious passenger areas such as the Canoe Cafe, Vista Restaurant and the Raven and Aurora Lounges with a comfortable and stylish atmosphere.

The fifteen-hour journey aboard BC Ferries’ newest vessel follows the rugged B.C. coastline and offers stunning vistas of unspoiled wilderness. The relaxing voyage often entertains travelers with sightings of bald eagles, porpoises, whales and other west coast wildlife.

“To make the most of your northern adventure, we’re offering new and unique vacation packages which include ferry travel, accommodation and activities,” said Janet Carson, BC Ferries’ Vice President of Marketing and Travel Services. “These packages may include salmon fishing, grizzly bear or whale watching tours and are designed to make for an unforgettable vacation experience.”
