GE Washing Machine Recall

GE Front Load Washing Machine
(Non-Heater) Recalled
Shock & Fire Hazard

A wire can break in the washing machine and make contact with a metal part on the washtub while the machine is operating, posing fire and shock hazards to users.

In Canada, GE has received one report of flames escaping the unit and causing minor smoke damage, with no reported injuries. GE has received 6 other reports of incidents related to these washing machines.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled washing machine, unplug it from the electrical outlet, and contact Mabe Canada for a free repair. Consumers should not operate the washer until the unit has been repaired.
