The incident occurred Sunday around noon in the Somerset Mountain Range west of Nitinat Lake on the western side of Vancouver Island.
There was a group of five people from the same family who were target shooting at the time the victim was shot multiple times.
A phone call alerted police who had some difficulty actually locating the group in the rugged terrain.
UPDATE
A charge of Murder (Section 235 Criminal Code) has now been laid against the son. He will appear in court on July 8th for his first appearance.
I went to school with Tony and Dawn they were wonderful people, and I find this shocking that anyone would want to hurt any of this wonderful family......Jen
ReplyDeleteBrendon murdered his father in cold blood. There was family problems between brendon and Tony. I talked to people that were there, kegan told me he watched brendon pick up the gun, sight in Tony and started shooting. Pretty good motor skills for someone trying to play it off as a seizure. Not to mention the second gun he picked up and started shooting too. Accident my *ss

GUILTY i say !!!
ReplyDeleteyou people have no balls, posting behind a hidden face. get your facts straight or jump under a bus
ReplyDeleteand btw, learn some medical history
ReplyDeletePeople who suffer from seizure disorders can be very affected by auras. These come before a seizure. It is completely plausible that this young man shot his father while in a fugue. He could have actually been thinking to himself "I am NOT not shooting my father..." I urge the legal system to check these facts before punishing him as a killer with intentions. There are many things people do not know about the brain. After all, reality is only what our brain tells us it is. For most people, most of the time it is standard and from a normal brain. For someone having a seizure or pre-seizure it can be vastly different.
ReplyDeletetypo...
DeleteI wanted to emphasize and messed up. Should read:
He could have actually been thinking to himself "I am NOT shooting my father..."
I have had experience with seizures and they are pretty weird sometimes. The thing I can't understand the lack of medical input here.
an eye for an eye i say
