Help For Drowning Victim

Would You Know What To Do?

While simply watching the above video will not qualify you as a paramedic it does give you the basic idea of what you should do in the event you encounter a child who is not breathing on their own, whether as a result of drowning or some other event.

The near tragedy at Swy-a-lana Lagoon on the weekend may have turned out badly had it not been for the St. John's Ambulance personnel who happened to be at the park.
The following link will also take you to an article with more in depth instructions as to what you should do in the case of a similar emergency, CPR Child 1 - 8 years old.

St. John Ambulance offers first aid training courses which all people can benefit from, to check local course schedules contact St. John Ambulance at 250-729-8889 or visit their website for more details.
