Liberal Leader Visits Nanaimo

Mr. & Mrs. Ignatieff Chat With Some Supporters

 Nanaimo Stop Short and Sweet
As Liberal Express Hits Town

Not that anyone would vote for me (I know I wouldn't) but you could not pay me enough to do what our Federal politicians put themselves through in order to get elected.

How did you spend your Canadian summer Mr. Ignatieff? Travelled all across Canada on a bus, you say? Delivered the same speech how many times? Tried not to forget the name of the town/city you were in? Was surprised or not surprised by the level of support you received in different parts of this vast country? No sir, you couldn't pay me to do that job!

Considering he is a Federal leader of the party that pretty much has run Canada for decades, you would have thought he might have received a bigger turnout. The crowd comfortably fit into a cafe on Commercial Street, and the street itself never seemed crowded at all. I suspect a much larger crowd will be out tonight watching the Free screening of ET at Diana Krall Plaza. But judging from the appropriate applause to his speech it seems he had good crowd support, albeit he is preaching to the choir so to speak.

All the best to you and your family Mr. Ignatieff, and I do hope you get to enjoy at least some of your summer.
