Only If They Are Worn

The sad news that the search has been called off for three fishermen and their guide off the coast, drives home the need to not only have lifejackets available, but to be wearing them.

The search for those missing was called off after police discovered the lifejackets were in a locker under one of the seats in the capsized boat.

They may restrict your movement and maybe don't look too macho, but they can save your life if you wind up in the water. It was estimated that if you are in the water without a jacket 6 - 8 hours is all the time you will be able to tread water and survive.
