Arson Charges Laid In Howard Ave. Blaze
A 27 year male has been remanded into custody in connection with an arson to a home in the 600 block of Howard Ave. in Nanaimo early Tuesday morning.
Adam Dennis GERZ ,age 27, of no fixed address , appeared before a Nanaimo Provincial court judge late yesterday afternoon and was remanded into custody on charges of Arson endangering Life and Break and Enter, both Criminal Code charges. His next court appearance is set for October 5th.
GERZ was arrested Tuesday morning by Nanaimo RCMP after a fire broke out shortly after 1:30 AM in a garage of a home occupied by six persons, three of those being children. Only one adult male sustained some smoke inhalation and was briefly hospitalized . The fire destroyed a car parked in the garage along with the garage itself.
The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345.
