Robert Owen Memorial Service


Memorial Service Sept. 10

A memorial service will be held on Friday September 10th, 2010 for Robert Owen who recently passed away from a recognized WorkSafe BC presumptive illness and was a retired Captain with Nanaimo Fire Rescue.

Nanaimo Fire Rescue and International Association of Firefighters Local 905 (IAFF905) will honour Bob with a full honour service at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre on Friday September 10, 2010 at 1:00 PM. It is anticipated that fire fighters from throughout BC will be present to pay their respects.

Temporary Rolling Road Closures
As this is a full honour service, there will be some rolling road closures affecting traffic, beginning at 12:30 until approximately 2:00 pm. Fire Fighters will muster on Promenade Drive and march along a parade route from Promenade Drive, Front Street, Bastion Street and Commercial Street before arriving and attending the service at the VICC.
