Counterfeit money has shown up in Parksville recently, which means Nanaimo could see some of the funny money as well. Canadian currency has many security features built into it to thwart counterfeiters which are aided by today's digital software and high resolution printers.
All new series Canadian bills have the above security features built into them which cannot be duplicated with a jet or laser printer no matter how good it happens to be. Take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with these features to help yourself avoid taking fake bills. Remember no one reimburses you if you get stuck with a phony bill.
