Prisoner Leaves Work Crew

Trevor Kenneth McCabe
Violent History
Nanaimo RCMP are currently conducting a search for an inmate missing from the Nanaimo Regional Correctional Center(NRCC).

Trevor Kenneth MCCABE, age 34, had been cleared to work outside the secure perimeter on a work crew and had been outside the gate since noon Tuesday. At 2:45 PM a head count was conducted and it was at that time he was reported as missing. Nanaimo RCMP are currently checking last known addresses and associates of MCCABE and have been in contact with neighboring RCMP Detachments on Vancouver Island.

MCCABE is described as being a white male, 5 ft 7 150 pounds with brown greying hair. He was sporting a beard at the time of his escape. He does have a history of violence, however, it was an 18 month sentence for break and enter that brought him to NRCC. MCCABE was due for release in August 2011.

Due to his previous history of violence , if you see MCCABE do not approach him and call 911 immediately. If you have information on his whereabouts, call 911 or your local RCMP Detachment. If you do not wish to provide your name , please call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS) or go on line at www.nanaimocrimestoppers.ca
