VI Raiders NOT Raising Money

It is reported in the Daily that a scammer posing as a Vancouver Island Raiders player scammed a local pizza restaurant out of $25.00

The con artist claimed the team was raising money for a fundraiser, which of course does not exist. The victim of the scam said the person was very good and convincing at what they were doing and although they felt a bit uneasy, given the time of year wanted to help out.

The owner of the Raiders is quoted as being disgusted by the crime and hopes no one else gets taken in. If you are asked for money by someone posing as a Raiders player you should contact the Raiders directly at 250-754-1004.
