Wheaton Buys Old Madill Property

The local daily is reporting that local auto dealer Wheaton Pontiac Buick has purchased the 2.8 hectare site what used to be occupied by long time Nanaimo business Madill Equipment.

The company fell victim to the downturn in the BC forest industry and closed in 2008. The property was originally listed for sale at over $6 million but recently sold for just less than $3 million.

The auto dealer says they have plans to expand their dealership and will likely consider removing the exisitng building from the site.
